Some of the headers from Kılıçdaroğlu’s statement are as follows:
“The people who talked about democracy during constitutional amendment referendum have not arranged the legal regulations and obstructed us. At this point it is possible to find a solution without hindering the election calendar. As CHP, we propose that the Parliament assembles an extraordinary sitting and reduces the election threshold.”
“We are ready to make a contribution in any way until a solution is reached. We are summoning other parties who are preparing for the election to support our proposals.”
QUESTIONES POSED BY THE PRESS MEMBERS TO CHAIRMAN KILIÇDAROĞLU:
Should the elections be canceled?
We are open to all proposals. We believe it is not right to postpone the elections.
What is your solution?
A constitutional amendment is necessary. Do we want to solve the problem or not? A solution can be found, every problem has a solution. Setting all kinds of obstructions is not a right way either. We, in good faith, want the Parliament to assemble a meeting; we are ready to make all the necessary contributions.
WE STAND ALONE IN THE ELECTIONS
We are not thinking of any coalitions. We stand alone in the elections.
THE VETO DECISION
A solution can be found if provisional arrangements are made, if we have confidence in public’s will a solution can be generated. This depends on other parties, are they willing to set forth a clear and open attitude like we did. The public will see which party is an advocate of democracy.
We are against violence. We demand political parties and as well as the public to be sensitive to this subject.
The decisions of the Supreme Election Board are in accordance with the constitution. I wish they had also amended the election law which is a product of September 12 during the constitutional amendment.
