Tells media not to look for divisions that don’t exist

PES Presidency Member and Norwegian Minister of Defence, Espen Barth Eide, this evening dismissed claims in the Turkish media that there was any disagreement between him and CHP leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu. Eide said that; “The media should not look for divisions that don’t exist. I and my good friend Kemal shared a stage today and contributed to an excellent debate. We shared a stage, and as always we share the same political perspective”.

Mr. Eide and Mr. Kilicdaroglu were participating in the PES Progressive Convention. The gathering in Brussels brought together over 2.000 progressive activists from all across Europe.

Commenting on inaccurate media reports from a few Turkish outlets, he stated: “The enthusiasm, with which Kemal was received today, in the heart of Europe, shows that it is not just me but all parties of the PES who stand with Mr. Kilicdaroglu”.
