Kader Sevinç is an honors graduate from the Akdeniz University, completed Jean Monnet European Integration Program (2005), pursued âbusiness communicationâ training at the Harvard University and obtained her MA in International Relations from CERIS/Paris XI University with âgrande distinctionâ (Thesis: Theories of International Negotiation, European Unionâs Enlargement and the Turkish Caseâ). As a Visiting Fellow at Center for Transatlantic Relations/SAIS-Johns Hopkins University in 2012, Sevinç worked on the Transatlantic Relations and their implications on Turkey. She is currently a non-resident fellow of the CTR/ SAIS.
She previously worked as researcher in the Akdeniz Universityâs EU research center, as manager in the private sector and as political advisor from 2005 to 2008 in the European Parliament in Brussels. In 2008 she was appointed as the CHP Representative to the EU and in 2010 she was elected as a PES Presidency Council member (Party of European socialists & democrats).
She was awarded by the Turkish Industry and Business Association for her entrepreneurship project, by the European Commission for her project entitled âTurkeyâs transformation and human capital in the EU accession processâ and by Young Tourism Leaders for her contribution to Turkeyâs image abroad. In 2013 Kader Sevinç was recognized by the Diplomatic Courier magazine and the YPFP in Washington DC among the most influential young foreign policy leaders in the world.
Kader Sevinç served as vice-president of TOSED (Turkish Business Association-Brussels), member of the EU advisory board of Kagider (Women Entrepreneurs Association). Ms Sevinç is currently a European board member of the environmental NGO TEMA, member of Ka-Der (Association to Support the Women in Politics) and EU adviser for Forum Istanbul.
She is a co-author of the political poetry book âThe European Constitution in Verseâ (2009, Brussels) and played in the theater show of â100% Brusselsâ.
Her poetry book âKırık Ălkeâ (Broken Country) was published and her bi-lingual jazz/poetry album âRiver-long Lonelinessâ was released in 2014.
In 2015 she is invited to contribute to an artistic project on the city and art by Brusselsâ Bozar and Goethe Institute, We-Traders. She also contributed to the collective books âTurkish Foreign Policy in the New Millenniumâ and âWomen Voicesâ to be published in 2015.
